Special Custom Challenge Coins

All the custom challenge coins are special. That is because they are made in such a way that the memory of the occasion on which they are presented to a group of people remains fresh even after many years. The Custom Challenge Coins actually date back to the First World War in which one of the volunteer pilots got some custom challenge coins minted for all his fellow pilots. All of them kept them safely with them and one of the pilots’ life was actually saved because of the coin. After that it became a ritual with the military to get special challenge coins made and given out to all their officers so that they could keep it with them as a sake of secret identity.

Custom Award CoinsThe coins are non transferable and all the people are not allowed to even see the coins. The coins are kept safely with all the officers and they are not even allowed to show them to their family. The coins have to be with them at all times and the senior officers have all the right to check the presence of the coin with the officer during off duty or within duty hours of challenging the coins.

The special coins are sometimes awarded to the special soldiers who are on special duty for the well being of their country and for the good will of its people. These soldiers have their lives at constant risk and to give them a chance in case of any mistake if they come in the eyes of the local investigators to prove themselves as innocent and not the enemies of their own country.

The Special Challenge Coins are in different shapes and are not at all like the money coins if looked carefully however they are kept safely and even tied around the neck in leather pouches.

  1. What is the highest challenge coin?
I've been in the Army four years. My second year in the Army I got my first coin from a Colonel. My third year I got one from a two star. This year I got one from the Secretary of Defense. Is there any other person of a higher "rank" who issues coins?
